A very pleasant surprise and wonderful owners!

Having very rarely stayed at a bed-and-breakfast before, I was delighted to find the accommodations here in this ranch-like setting very hospitable and well-thought-out. Wifi is available as well as a small fridge, microwave and Keurig coffee-maker in each room. We rented 3 rooms which were in a separate building to provide privacy, but also an outdoor patio for relaxing and eating (locally made muffins, energy bars and fruit are provided in each room along with water bottles and soda). As birdwatchers, we were able to see a nice suite of species right on the property (e.g., Scott’s Oriole, Pyrrhuloxia, barn and great horned owls, scaled quail and more. Nice location with easy drives to the Chiricahuas and to the Dragoon mountains and a few good restaurants in the area.

A huge plus was the owners (I only spoke with Patrick) who are very knowledgeable about the area and will bend over backwards to attend to their guests. As mentioned in a previous review, the other owner (Bob) is an award-winning basket weaver and teacher and the baskets are beautiful – I bought one for my wife. A real find in many respects!.

Friendly, with beautifully situated location and great host!

4 of us spent 4 days (using the 3 rooms) at the ranch while hiking, birding and exploring the Chiricahuas and Dragoons. Patrick was an extremely generous host, with great knowledge of the surrounding areas and what they have to offer. He went way out of his way to help us once when we needed it. Bob, whom we briefly met, has a beautiful selection of his handcrafted baskets and related things (some of which we bought). The rooms were clean and decorated with a SW Arizona flavor, and well stocked with breakfast food, coffee etc.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention how much we enjoyed the animals (including owls!) on and around the ranch too!

Wonderful hosts!

May 6, 2022

We were a group of 4 and stayed in all three of the available rooms for four nights, which were spotlessly clean and contained everything we needed, and more. Muffins, yogurt, tea, coffee, fruits and breakfast bars aplenty for breakfast. But most importantly, Patrick, our host, was wonderful. He went out of his way to offer us information about hiking, restaurants, birding spots– and he introduced us to the ranch wildlife, including a nesting Great Horned Owl and resident Barn Owls. He even picked two of our party up after hiking in the Dragoons due to a snag with transportation. Between the ranch, Chiricahua hikes and Dragoons, we racked up nearly 60 bird species. Everyone was delighted with the stay!

The basket weaving studio is Bob’s territory and he graciously showed me around. There are lovely baskets of his to buy there or online. There are also sweet lavender products made from the ranch’s own lavender. One of our party lives in Phoenix and will certainly return on his next expedition into the Chiricahuas. We all will!
